Product Descriptions:

Potassium permanganate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula KMnO4. It is a purplish-black crystalline salt, that dissolves in water as K+ and MnO−4, an intensely pink to purple solution.

1. Potassium permanganate can be oxidized and decomposed in ethanol and hydrogen peroxide.

2. Potassium permanganate is a strong oxidant. As an oxidant, it is greatly influenced by PH and has strong oxidizing ability in acidic solution.

3. When potassium permanganate meets organic matter, it releases nascent state oxygen and manganese dioxide, but no free oxygen molecules are released, so there is no bubble.

4. The bactericidal power of potassium permanganate increases with the increase of concentration. When the concentration is 0.1%, it can kill most bacteria’s reproductive bodies, and 2% ~ 5% solution can kill bacteria within 24 hours. The bactericidal effect can be obviously improved under acidic conditions.
