Chloramine-T is the organic compound with the formula CH3C6H4SO2NClNa. Both the anhydrous salt and its trihydrate are known. Both are white powders. Chloramine-T is used as a reagent in organic synthesis.

It’s inexpensive, has low toxicity and acts as a mild oxidizing agent. In addition, it also acts as a source of nitrogen anions and electrophilic cations. It may undergo degradation on long term exposure to atmosphere such that care must be taken during its storage.

Application：

1. Disinfectant:

As a disinfectant, this product is a disinfectant with broad-spectrum bactericidal ability for external use, containing 24 ~ 25% of available chlorine, which is relatively stable and can kill bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores.

2. The application of chloramine T in printing and dyeing:

(1) Chloramine T used as bleaching agent is mainly used for bleaching plant fibers.

(2) Used as oxidation desizing agent.

3. Sulfonyl chloride amine sodium (chloramine T) can promote cell differentiation.
